Grooming Policies

Important Information

Please read before booking your appointment

At The Grooming Loft Wakefield, our goal is to treat all pets entrusted in our care with patience, compassion and always ensuring their safety, health and well-being.

We reserve the right to refuse service if we feel either the groomer or pet may be harmed in the grooming process.

Fleas

All pets must be up to date with flea treatments to avoid contaminating the salon and affecting other appointments.

Important: If fleas are found during your pet's appointment there will be a charge of £10 to pay for decontamination of the salon.

Cancellations

All cancellations require 48 hours notice.

For cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice, 50% of the total groom cost will be charged.

No Shows

No show appointments will be charged the full amount of the appointment.

As a small business, these losses are detrimental to us.

Anxious Pets

Some pets simply don't like being bathed or groomed and the stress of it overwhelms them, making them nearly impossible to work on.

We deal with these pets by doing whatever we can within reason to ensure their comfort and safety.

Matted Coats

Matts in your pet's coat can harm and tear their skin. Grooming visits should be scheduled every 4-8 weeks to maintain a matt-free coat.

If not maintained, the coat may need shaving to remove matting.

Note: De-matting can incur extra charges depending on severity.

Customer Satisfaction

Your satisfaction is important to us. If you are unhappy for any reason and would like something adjusted, we will be happy to make these adjustments.

Options:

  • Request adjustments on collection of your pet from their appointment
  • Book a follow-up correction appointment
